Hydrology Tomography plotting technique is used to obtain high-quality comprehensive information under various complicated environments, which has been widely adopted in identifying risky hazards, such as reservoir leakage, embankment threat, and slope instability. Moreover, it can also be applied to explore & evaluate karsts terrain and hydro-geological engineering, as well as the spatial distribution of water resources and underground water.
Using advanced information technology and algorithms, the aquifer characteristics can be reconstructed in 3D to increase the plotting accuracy. The 3D model allows direct reading of the aquifer’s spatial distribution and prediction of the right scale to match the aquifer’s thickness. It makes the interpretation accurate and clearly sighted, resulting in high efficiency in the exploration. With multiple comprehensive cross-checking information, it overcomes the challenge in single geophysical exploration methods, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of seepage detection.
Scanned cross-section output is plotted in 3D or 2D, allowing analysis of underground water within the designated boundaries
Study of the spatial distribution of the heterogeneous aquifers and karsts strata based on the tomography scanning technology exerts a stimulus on the region and observes the response brought by the stimulus at different locations. Then, repeating such an excitation in different locations can obtain multiple sets of excitation and response data.
The HT approach utilizes the Bayesian principle by merging the observed information and digitalizing the data. By adapting the Scanning Linear Estimator for inverse analysis, it display hydraulic parameters and subsurface spatial distribution in 3D.
